Hero Boy Scouts, 12 and 13, Reveal How Their Wilderness Skills and Quick Thinking Helped Save Their Scoutmaster from a Bear Attack

This story has taken so many turns since it was originally written. I live in NJ and can't believe how many versions have been written. The guy WAS a scout leader yes, but was out on his own with his son and a couple friends. Not on a sanctioned trip. He decided to enter a cave/den to check it out and awakened a sleeping/.hibernating bear. Of course he was attacked. The bear was defending himself and his territory. Under most circumstances a bear that attacks is then tracked and killed but not in this case. It was found that the bear did nothing wrong. The "leader" was the fool in this case. And parents leave him in charge of their kids? Yikes!
